Delicious BBQ place, the food is always fantastic and the service is typically very good as well.

Highly recommend the brisket, Arancini, and burgers. I don't even like brisket but I recommend it here.

First time visiting Chow and we will definitely be back! They have some really fun features right now for Halloween, including a rum punch that comes out looking like a witch's cauldron complete with smoke thanks to some dry ice. We had the cheese curds (awesome) for an appetizer. Entrees were the Lemon Pepper Walleye, Blackened Chicken Alfredo, and the kid's Chicken Tenders. The walleye had fantastic flavor! The risotto that comes with it was decent but could use a bit more seasoning - still good though. The Alfredo was delicious!!! Alfredo can be a bit bland but with the red peppers and broccoli, this was very good.

The service was great!!! We were here on a Friday night and never had to wonder where our server was or how long the food would take. It was a little spendy for 2 adults and 1 child ($91 before tip) so not somewhere we could frequent but absolutely somewhere we will return!

We visited Chow on a Friday night. While it took us a few extra minutes to get initial service, the team made up for it after they realized we had waited the extra time. (Note: we did not complain.) Our food was expedited and we had a quick visit from the owner. Top-notch service. The smoked chicken and prime rib were delicious. I am looking forward to going back to try their Sunday brunch!

Appetizer was the walleye cakes. I thought they were good, wife didn't like them. Mostly breading, but had a nice spicy kick. Ordered the Spicy Chicken sandwich with parmesan garlic fries. Nothing too special about the sandwich, was good. Always seems like a waste to get the upcharge for the extra flavor on fries. One of these days I'll remember. Fries were not very good. Seemed like they got a poor batch of potatoes. Many dark spots, not crispy, very limp. I'll pop the leftover fries in the air fryer. Hopefully that will improve them.

Super cool place, loved everything about it. The food was amazing, the chefs really know what they're doing in the kitchen. Atmosphere is great, very comfortable and super friendly servers! I'm most likely gonna come back and I'm definitely recommending this place! We ordered the cajun walleye and the fresno hot wings. The wings were not as hot as my husband expected but they were still some of the best tasting wings he's had.

The steak we had was so good! The atmosphere is great and the service good. They have amazing cocktails and as I said, the ribeye is a must try! We will be back for sure!

We attempted the beast burger challenge. Fantastic burger, we did not succeed at finishing it, but we will be back for a normal burger again! The menu itself looked to have lots of options as well.

Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, and very clean. It was my first time in a restaurant since March, and we felt very safe.

Overall, an extremely disappointing experience.

We were very excited to come for some of the BBQ and atmosphere. Of the good things we experienced: ample parking, great smells, very friendly host/hostess and seated almost immediately when we walked in at 6:15 PM on a Friday.

After this the experience went significantly downhill. The waitress assigned to the table was not pleasant and often began walking away while we were talking, was inattentive, and basically disappeared for a significant portion of our time. Our appetizer came out in 5-10 minutes (this was good). Our drinks took another 5 minutes. We had to ask for water twice before we received any. Brought out only one for my wife, then had to ask a third time for water for myself.

We ordered dinner at the same time as ordering our drinks. Two orders of brisket with sides. This took 45-50 minutes before it came to our table. Our drinks were empty as the waitress had not been by in 25-30 minutes. The food came out warm at best; the mac and cheese had a layer and the top pasta was dried from sitting under the warmer for an excessive amount of time. The mac and cheese should have been the item that wasn't already prepared, if anything, since brisket takes hours. The place wasn't super packed, and no big parties were visible to have backed up the kitchen; nor did the waitress stop to let us know things were taking longer than expected...she just didn't come back until after someone else brought our food. We watched subsequent patrons be sat and get their food prior to us (ribs, burgers, pizzas, etc). We also watched other waitresses check on their tables frequently, either directly or from the periphery.

The icing on the cake was that the brisket, which again we had to wait 45-50 minutes for, came out mostly fat (see photo). I expect some fat. Not a slab of it. Overall, this was a terrible experience. I try to provide positive reviews whenever I can for restaurants and tried to find the good in this one, but for a ~$80 meal I expect much better.

I do not plan to return to this restaurant nor can I recommend it. Tip for anyone thinking about going - take the extra 15-20 minutes and drive to Rockwoods in Otsego. Better service, better BBQ and same prices. We've been there numerous times and have never been disappointed.

Edit: I did reach out to the owner who informed me, in summary, that they get things right about 80% of the time and that I should return to pay for another meal to give them another chance.
